Artist statement
My work explores the dynamics of identity through inner conversations revolving around the architecture of spaces and people and investigating the ideologies that govern them. With influences from my immediate environment, I try to engage & deconstruct stereotypes by using myself as a metaphor in different kinds of spaces – gendered, historical, organized, or unorganized spaces. While I use a variety of processes in each project, my approach is consistent. The subject matter of each body of work determines the materials and the forms of the work. During research and production, new areas of interest arise and lead to the next body of work.
