Biography

Dean Earl is a Mix Media artist (Born in Atlanta, Georgia USA) who seeks opportunities that help him to learn and grow in all aspects of life. When it comes to art, he believes in life-long learning, and though only 2 years into his art career he has been determined and seeks conversations and experiences with people he can learn from, contribute, and grow with as a community.

Artist Statement

The core of my art represents the playful essence of black youth which is so often stripped away from African American children due to abnormal societal norms caused by centuries of systemic suppression. As a child, growing up in the inner city of Atlanta, Georgia, it was just another regular day to see our community playground yellowtaped, green grass dotted with pools of red tint. Well, I guess we’re going to play Nintendo at AJ’s house if his mom’s not sleeping . . . just a normal day for the young & beautiful ghetto kids. But this (my art) is a to the moon, think outside of the box, anything is possible kind of story. Playfully, painting the past and future to push the culture forward, while paying homage to where I (us) come from and those who paved the way. My art also encompasses those who love, respect, and embraces African American | Hip hop| Urban culture regardless of sexual orientation, race, gender, religious, national, or ethnic background.
