Biography
Marcel Grimard is a sixty-year-old disabled French-Canadian gay man, living in St Catharines, Ontario, in Canada. He studied History, Career Counselling, Sociology and Equity in Education and now Visual Arts.
He has been involved in community activism as co-founders to non-for-profit organizations in HIV/AIDS, Gay rights and Workers’ co-op. He has been sitting on several board of directors in community services, cultural center and advocacy organizations. He has been advisors on language rights, HIV advocacy groups and equity board.
He has been a researcher on minority francophone gay man. He has been published in several linguistic and sociolinguistic journals. He was guess speaker to several international colloquiums.
After a severe mental health issue, he is now a third-year student visual art at Brock University as a vocational rehabilitation process with the mean to reengineer his Career. His works have been seen in St Catharines, Toronto and Venice. In the coming months, he will have an exhibit in St Catharines, an Art Performance in Toronto and a participation in Buffalo, NY. He is currently on a short documentary about Trans Francophone Immigrants.
