Sofia Mendiondo was born in Argentina in 1991. She is a clinical pychologist specialized in psychoanalysis. She recently finished a four year residency in a public hospital en the city of Buenos Aires. In 2017 she created a project to promote mental health throught artistic practices aimed to adolescents. She assisted different artists and participates of different contemporary art workshops. She is interested in the mechanisms and procedures involved in the operation of the sewing machine. She also investigates in relation to the use of psychopathological diagnoses, dreams as historical files and body movement in the exercise of different occupations that involve cutting and sewing, al of them guided by the concept of repetition.

Occupations, such as sewing and psychoanalysis have been present in all her artistic practice. These open questions that insist in the same way and with the same impetus: about repetition, variation, measurement, the series, point and cut.

She makes use of different means that allow me to put these interests and concepts to the test. Techniques such as audiovisual media, sewing, drawing and interface devices.
