Belgrade Art Studio Residency

Career Suicide

Year of Residency: 2026

Career Suicide is an experimental theatre company, co- founded by collaborators Faith Jones and Mazzy Ronaldson, that is focused on creating post-internet work without direct reference to the online world. Our company aims to make enjoyable, entertaining and interesting work that balances humour and philosophy with the intention of creating work that is interesting and accessible.
We are currently editing our new short film INSANE CLOWN MAFIA, which is set at the funeral of a mob boss, and creates a performance hybrid of theatre, circus, clown and dance.
During our time in Belgrade Art Studio we are developing our new durational performance art piece HOT BOX. This 24 hour performance will contain distilled recordings we take during our time in Belgrade. We are looking forward to seeing work and being inspired by the artistic scene in Belgrade.
Our collaboration began with our first short film How Could you feel fear with a Moon like that? in 2021. Our first theatre/ performance art hybrid piece Out in the Cold that took place at the Samuel Beckett Theatre in 2022. In this piece Mazzy played Faith and performed Faith’s perspective on her own childhood with Faith’s immediate family playing themselves. Last year, we presented a work in progress piece at Smock Alley called 40 MINUTE ENCORE, which used hours of transcribed, recorded conversations from our friend group as the text for a performance exploring perceptions of insincerity in socialisation as an effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on socialisation and in-person interaction.
In the last year, Mazzy has performed in The Abbey Theatre, Gaiety Theatre and the Project Arts Centre. Her voice acting includes Mortina on RTE Junior. Mazzy sang as part of St Bartholomew’s Choir for over 10 years. Faith has toured internationally with Pan Pan Theatre since 2023, as part of this she has performed and worked in the The National Theatre Studios (London), Lincoln Centre (New York City), the Capitol Lounge (Melbourne) and the Memorial Public Library (Canada). She has also taken part in experimental making residencies in NYC with Nature Theatre of Oklahoma (2024) and Big Dance Theatre (2025).
