PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Often the westernized world forgets there are still places on earth that exist without skyscrapers and shopping malls, airplanes, cars, and even Tik Tok and Instagram if you can believe it (lol). In all seriousness, a 2013 Forbes article (“Are There Any Uncontacted Civilizations Left in The World?”) stated that there are still roughly 100 tribes left on earth, living off the land without any modern advancements.
For my final project, I decided to reimagine what it would be like living in one of these uncontacted tribes. While most of the world came to a halt dealing with the rapid spread of Covid, some of these tribes lived blissfully and free from outside news of wars, mass shootings, and global pandemics.
It is my goal as an artist to evoke the playful essence of youth in all my work. While adding the honor of my African American Heritage, coupled with all the beautiful cultures I have experienced which continue to shape and mold my outlook on life.
Final Project: Royal Blisss
