What made you decide to become an artist?
I have always been an artist in some form, whether it be music, architecture, furniture etc. I have always enjoying sharing my creativity and ideas with the outside world and digital paintings is another way to express this.
Was it something you’d always had an interest in or was it just a different way to tell a story?
Yes, in one way or another! First, I started studying and collecting art. Once I gained the self-belief that I could make my own art I did just that.
How do you come up with an idea and what is your working method?
I don’t really focus on coming up with ideas more than I just, try and capture a single weird thought I mite have throughout the day, write it down, and then translate it best I can visually through my art.
What are the things which catch your attention?
Bright bold colors and pieces that force you to stop, get closer, and even lean into it to full grasp your own interpretation of the meaning.
What do you hope to capture and convey in the pieces you create?
A sense of organized chaos, that at a minimum invokes an extreme emotional experience. Anything but the ordinary.
Have you ever thought about using some traditional medium or is it all about computer-generated pieces?
With my digital on canvas works, I incorporated other mediums such as acrylic. But I plan on using many other materials in the future.
How has your work developed since you began and how do you see it evolving in the future?
My started off with just a few straight lines in MS Paint, now I’m getting more in depth and adding context. In the future I plan on mixing architecture with my art, the crazy notion to build a small house as if it were a painting, you were living inside.
To what extent does the pandemic influence your depiction of art? Does it generate new inspiration?
Well, the pandemic birth my artistry so its hard to say, if anything it influenced my depiction of art in a very positive way.
How do you feel about being involved in an online residency program? How important is to stay connected with the international art community?
Loving the online residency so far and I feel its very important to stay connected with not only the international art community, but the international community in general. I feel that any artist who hasn’t travel or experienced other cultures is missing out on a huge gift.
What are your thoughts about the theme ‘artist on standby’?
I think the theme is relevant to our current time, and I’m enjoying working within this theme. Tell us a bit more about your project… Since I am an artist birthed from the pandemic, I guess I wasn’t really an artist on standby, so I had a crazy thought of what it would be like to focus on a small, isolated village cut off from the modern world – almost frozen in time, unaffected by the pandemic living as normal as the modern world is in panic.
What do you want to achieve before things return to normal?
My forever goal is to always challenge myself to get better, I don’t necessarily have a deadline for my achievements before the world is considered back to normal.
Any future plans/projects?
Just to gain as much art experiences as I can. Plus, I have a plan to build a livable/ habitable art venue, for people to visit.
