Belgrade Art Studio welcomes a July 2018 resident, Libbet Loughnan, a painter from Tasmania, Australia. Libbet has been really active as an artist showing her work all over the world.
Recognized for its use of rich colors and dark shadows, Loughnan’s work explores connectedness and the beautiful fragility of life.
Loughnan is increasingly represented in solo shows, including Australia (2013 and 2017), Philippines (2015) and the USA (2017 and 2018). Recent awards include the President’s Award at the National Arts Club (USA, March 2016), First Prize in Art Lab 2015 and fully hosted Residency in Civitella, awarded by the Academic Council of the Academia Luciana (Italy, August 2015). Recent group exhibitions span those same countries as well as Germany, and representation in Art fairs in Japan, Canada, and the USA.
She travels a lot, and always needs to find ways to keep painting as she travels. Libbet loves the idea of living in Belgrade for art, even if only for a short while. She will open the studio for viewings/a small show.
