Noa Arad Yairi

Year of Residency: 2022

I am an artist based in Jerusalem. My works are shown in exhibitions and site specific projects in Israel and abroad. I graduated from the visual communications department at WIZO Haifa Academy of Design. I then managed my own design studio and since 2009 I focuse on sculpture, installations and painting.

My body of work consists of topics I work on in the studio and site-specific projects where I create works that stem from the study of the historical, cultural and political narrative associated with the place. The feminist view of a woman is at the core of my work. I sculpt and paint women I know that in the clear confident presence of how they place themselves in the world I find a definition of existential-feminine state of being.
Among the exhibitions and projects: “Madonnas”, solo exhibition, The Artists’ House, Tel Aviv (2021-22) ; “The artist is absent”, street installation, The Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow, 2021 ; “Infiltration (Beyond the 100 meter radius)”, performance, He’ara 13, Sala Manca Group (2020) ; “If they show me blood”, “The 11th Sybil”, Beita Gallery, Jerusalem (2019) ; “Splitting” ; “Noman” “Hinter/vor und nach der Mauer” (Behind/before and after the Wall), Klostergalerie Zehdenick, Germany (2019) ; “Retrospect” ; “Mother Mold” ; “Absent”, “The Schneller Order”, Schneller compound, Jerusalem (2019) ; “The Dream of those who are awake”, installation, “Hope”, Rishon LeZion Museum (2019) ; Installation and performance, Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow, “Sambation” (2018) ;  “Splittings”, The 8th Israeli Biennale for Ceramics, Eretz Israel Museum, Tel Aviv (2016) ; Synecdoche, solo exhibition, Tzadik Gallery, Tel Aviv 2011

I am an initiating member of the artists’ venture HaMiffal in Jerusalem. I collaborate with the Empty House group and the Musalla Group in artistic ventures in public spaces since 2012.

I teach sculpture in the Emuna Academic College of Art and I give a conceptual-practical course at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.
